While the cost of vision exams, glasses and or contact lenses are not overly expensive for out of pocket, most employees prefer to have a vision insurance plan available to pay for these type services. It is just easier to budget the monthly premiums of these plans then to pay the retail charges at the point of service, not to mention the discounted pricing offered by the providers that participate in these plan networks.
